Recent Updates

02/12/2005

Added a scan to go with the text manual I typed up for Golden Axe II.

02/05/2005

Today I added a text manual for Golden Axe II. Also, you might have noticed that the manual section works a little differently. I thought this might work better than the previous method. Expect the Magazine section to work like this soon.

01/23/2005

A little while back I was approached by Lik-Sang to be a sponsored site. Well, work became busy because of all the storms we had down here and I hadn't even gotten a chance to look at the affilate documentation until today. If you don't know, Lik-Sang is a video game store that sells imports and domestic titles for many systems, including the classics.

Any thing I obtain from the affilate program will be put back toward the site in some way. So if you shop with Lik-Sang already, or plan to do so in the future, please consider using the links from Sega Forever.

08/20/2004

I scanned and uploaded two magazine ads: Corporation and Battlemaster.

08/15/2004

I typed up a fairly lengthy article from a Game Player's magazine that reviews the Game Gear and Sonic the Hedgehog before their release. There's also an interesting tid bit about StormLord in there. Evidently the original version RazorSoft had planned to released had nude fairies in it.

07/18/2004

Today I typed up a text manual for Trouble Shooter.

07/17/2004

I've been working long weeks, but I managed to type up a text manual for the game Elemental Master. Enjoy.

02/20/2004

Decided to update the site tonight with some actual content. I added a magazine article and three magazine ads.

02/15/2004

I've fixed up the Manuals section quite a bit. The search now only returns 10 results and the "List All" button will divide the manuals 10 per page.

I have also added a news archive and got rid of the "List All" link at the bottom of the page. It allows you to display news for a certain month and year. I'll be adding the old entries soon so you can browse through them. Right now everything from 2003 is there and I have stuff that goes back to 2000. Some of the old entries were lost, but I have a good amount.

If you go back far enough you'll see references to sections that don't exist anymore. You'll also see that I used to have staff members.

02/15/2004

Remember how I used to have sprites on the page? You don't? Well it was a long time ago...

Well at any rate, I've been working on a new project here at EmulationZone. It's a collection of sprites from various games and platforms. It's called Pixel Warehouse and is looking pretty good right now. If you've wondered where my spare attention has been going it has been here. Please check it out if you get a chance.

12/23/2003

No, I'm not dead (although after having my wisdom teeth pulled out recently, I kind of wish I was =P).

I've been busy with finals and other things. I know I said I would have an update for the site's birthday, but I just did not have the time. I am probably going to redo the scripts for the site as I have had a little more practice with MySQL.

As for content, I don't have the drive I used to about the site. I honestly thought this was going to be a big thing, offering manuals and such, but evidently not. Oh well, I've learned a lot of things from this site and I'll continue to update it once and a while.

11/04/2003

Two new magazine articles were added to the archive. Enjoy.

11/03/2003

I added a few link requests that have been sitting in my inbox for a while. I have been busy lately, so that is why I have not worked on the site in a while.

10/03/2003

A manual for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Hyper Stone Heist for the Sega Genesis was uploaded.

07/22/2003

Today I added two articles to the magazine section. One is from EGM about the Sega CD, the other is the Mail Box section from the August/September issue of Sega Visions.

07/10/2003

I bought four old gaming magazines today. Thus I've added two ad scans to the magazine section. There will be more to follow.

07/02/2003

A manual scan for Two Crude Dudes was added as well as four magazine advertisements.

07/01/2003

Welcome to the new Sega Forever. I've gotten rid of some sections again, but I may bring them back at a later time. Right now the focus is on manuals and magazine stuff.

05/25/2003

Added a Sega CD System Manual for the second model. You can find it under "S" for System Manual. By the way, the hit counter is broken... again.

02/02/2003

Today I've added an instruction book for Haunting Staring Polterguy.

02/01/2003

I was going to make an update today, but since the incident this morning I'll wait until tomorrow. I've lived in Central Florida all my life and those sonic booms were always just something that happened when the shuttle returned. It's strange not to have them this day, even though I never gave much thought to them.

We used to loose people to the sea, now we loose them to space. The frontier changed, but the sarrow stayed the same.

01/18/2003

A Blades of Vengeance manual scan has been uploaded.

01/15/2003

I'm a day late, but I've added a manual for Galahad. I'll probably be doing more EA scans in the near future, so keep an eye out for them.

01/13/2003

I just scanned and uploaded a T2 Terminator - 2 Judgement Day manual. I'll probably have some more scans for you tomorrow. I ran into a little snag with the counter, evidently it looped back to 0. I've fixed it now however and set it back to 32767 (the max length of an integer) + whatever was on the counter when I noticed it was broken.

01/03/2003

Today I've added a Lightening Force text manual and a few Alex Kidd AIM Icons. I also cleaned out the broken links in the links section and got rid of non-reciprocal affilates.

Also, be sure to check out The World & Music of DirtyZ. He has two Streets of Rage mp3 remixes you might enjoy.

01/02/2003

Wasn't it about a year ago I put this design in place? Well for this year I've converted over most of the pages to PHP. This way updating should be easier. A few sections are missing because I need to redo them. Happy belated birthday to Sega Forver, it is now four years old. Special thanks to Potatocake and Mark_III for helping in the past, it's ashame more of my so called "contributers" couldn't have been like you guys.

12/24/2002

Merry Christmas, yes, I'm still alive. At any rate I've added 3 text manuals that I have typed up and added a link in the hoax section to where you can browse the Sonic HQ hoaxes with an SF layout.

It has come to a point where I need to ask a serious question, "Is it worth it?" That is, do you get any use out of this site? Should I continue to update it, or just maintain what is here now? Please e-mail me with your thoughts.

09/21/2002

Two instruction manuals uploaded: Lightening Force and Todd's Adventures in Slime World. Enjoy.

09/01/2002

I've added some AIM Icons to the download section. 8 Langrisser II Portraits and 2 missing portraits from Warsong (Bozel [Don't remember the Engrish equivalent they gave him] & Chaos). Would have had those two from Warsong up sooner, but Scenario 20 isn't in the level select.

07/24/2002

I hope you're ready for something different. Today I added eight articles from Sega Visions magazine. There's an article on the Sega VR, a virtual reality system, one about the making of a video game at Sega (although it's dated, it's still worth the read), and an article about the Activator. Also added were a few Yo Sega! sections from various issues.

But there's more! There are 5 new magazine ads. And a text manual for Thunder Force III.

07/05/2002

Alright time for an update! I made a trip to a local game store and ending up scoring a Thunder Force III manual and this unlicensed game called Bible Adventures. The Thunder Force III manual and the manual from Bible Adventures have been scanned.

06/14/2002

Today I have three Sega Saturn manuals for you. Those three include Die Hard Arcade, Doom, and MechWarrior 2. I'm slowly running out of manuals to scan, perhaps I should buy some more used games. Also Archie Sonic #15 is up on ebay.

06/12/2002

Alright, here are some more goodies for you all. First off there's a Saturn manual uploaded for Hang-On GP. Second, there are 3 new wallpapers, which haven't been added to in a while. Expect more Saturn scans soon.

06/04/2002

Not much of an update today, however it is something. And if I add a little something each day...

Anyway, I've added some AIM Icons from the Dreamcast game I-Spy Operation Espionage. It's not that great of a game, I know, but the characters are pretty cool.

06/03/2002

Sorry for skipping the whole month of May, but I was busy with the end of school and everything. First off, sorry if your hoaxes haven't been getting up, but SSRG, Sonic HQ, and Sega Forever are in the process of combining sections. I should still have access to add entries (I know it took a few months before my hoaxes got on Sonic HQ) so updating shouldn't be a problem. Secondly, if you want to keep tabs on the other stuff I do, besides Sega Forever, check my other site Domus Luporum.

Anyway, today I have Streets of Rage 2 and Out Run 2019 scanned instruction books for your viewing pleasure.

Another note before I go, ToeJam & Earl Productions has updated its site for the release of TJ&E III on Xbox. Bah, since they ditched the Dreamcast version the least they could do is make a PC port. An interesting note, this game sounds similar to the original plot for TJ&E II on Genesis.

04/13/2002

Two new sets of hoaxes by Team Tenchi and Heavy Knux, and 1 added for CpuNPs2Master. Also a change in e-mail address, if you need to e-mail please use DarkWolf@emulationzone.org from now on. Damn Yahoo mail...

03/30/2002

Hoaxes galore. 3 more for CpuNPs2Master, 1 more for Royce, and about 33 for Ultimo. I also added a hoax that I did a few days ago to my section. Check out The Hoaxing Facility, Royce's hoaxing site.

03/20/2002

Frustrating day. First off a scanned manual for Zoom! I recently found a local store with manuals, so expect some more soon. Anyway I've also added hoaxes, which seems to be Sega Forever's most updated section. From me, DarkWolf, 2; from Royce, 1; from a newcomer, CpuNPs2Master, 1.

03/18/2002

Okay, here we go. First off two scanned manuals, Thunder Force II and Doom for 32X. Also, Frenetic Zombie and Royce have a small hoax update.

One thing I would really like to address is the company www.sega-parts.com. I placed an online order for a Power Base converter. Two weeks later and I still haven't received it. So I call up, and evidently there is no record of the order. Then they tell me that they don't even sell Power Base converters and they need to updated their site. So www.sega-parts.com is on my BLACK LIST. I don't recommend you visit them anytime soon.

03/02/2002

Wow, a large hoax update. Two new hoaxers added (although one has been hoaxing for a long time), and Royce and Ultimo's section updated. I want more! Heh, seriously I would like to host some more hoaxers.

Sonic Issue #12 is now on ebay, hopefully I'll get just as many bids as I did on #11.

02/17/2002

Okay first we have two scanned manuals, James Pond and Shinobi III. Also I've added one of my hoaxes and Royce has submitted one of his as well. I'd like to say that the Sonic Comic I recently put on ebay sold for a nice $26. ;)

02/04/2002

Finally those reviews are back up. I got rid of some of the old ones, however I still need to work on the formatting of the pages. Thanks again James Molloy for going through the reviews. Also added were 2 hoaxes for Royce. Last of all, tomorrow is the last day you can bid on Issue 11.

01/30/2002

Four magazine ads added: Captain America, F355 Challenge, Pig Skin Footbrawl, and Wonderdog. Also, my Archie Sonic Comic Issue 11 is up for sale on ebay. The reviews will be back up soon (I hope) thanks to the help of James Molloy.

01/26/2002

First off, 13 Virtua Fighter 2 AIM Icons, and 3 Phantasy Star II Icons. Also added were three hoaxes by Royce. And last, a Steel Empire scanned manual.

01/21/2002

Where to begin? Okay, first off we've won an award from Sonic Vegemite, you can see it under the Info section. Also 2 Dark Savior AIM Icons, I would have more, but my screen grabbing program decided to take pictures of my taskbar instead of the PC TV window...

Also, two Video Game Connections, and two scanned manuals. Pitfall The Mayan Adventure and Wolfchild for Sega CD.

01/20/2002

Added some more of my Hoaxes, and added captions for the hoaxes that Ultimo supplied with in the zip file he sent me. Also added 4 more Dark Savior AIM icons.

01/20/2002

Added 11 Dark Savior AIM Icons and 2 Phantasy Star IV. Also finished captions for Royce. There might be another update today, stay tuned.

01/19/2002

Updated the Hoax section. Added 1 hoax for Royce and added a new section for Ultimo, who has 73 hoaxes. Also Royce submitted captions for 5 of his hoaxes, you can see them by clicking on the related picture.

01/05/2002

I'm on a roll, I've added a Bram Stoker's Dracula text manual for Sega CD, and scans for Columns, StormLord and Dark Savior.

01/05/2002

Today's update are The Terminator and Bram Stoker's Dracula scanned manuals for Sega CD. Also a Sonic Hoax update.

01/03/2002

A late birthday present for Sega Forever, a new look. I've also deleted some of the abandoned sections, and I am currently trying to fix up the review section the best I can. Soon I hope the EmulationZone's News & Update system will be implemented into Sega Forever so updating will be easier. I'm the only staff member right now, and I'm probably not going to take anymore, due to past experiences. My main focus will be the Instruction Book, Sega Magazine Stuff, and Sonic Hoaxes sections.

I recently discovered one of Sega Forever's sections was an influence for an entire web page. I'm talking about Streets of Rage Online over at GameSpy's Classicgaming.com. It takes Sega Forever's SOR section to a new level.

Please send me any comments on the new design, I think the visited hyperlink is a bit too light. Also send me any problems you find with the new design.

01/02/2002

Today I added a Golden Axe manual scan, an original Golden Axe text manual and fixed a typo in the Columns text manual.

12/29/2001

This isn't really an update, just letting you know the Sonic Comics will be moved to E-Bay soon, so the list has been taken down.

10/06/2001

Added some manual scans, most of them from the Genesis Project. I'll start doing Dreamcast/Saturn scans when I finish up with some more Genesis manuals.

10/05/2001

Added an interview and a magazine ad for the Sega Magazine Stuff section.

09/03/2001

Added magazine ads for The Addams Family, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Monster Truck Wars, Stellar Fire, and Wolfchild. These can be found in the usual section. If all the Sonic Comics aren't sold by the end of the year they're going on ebay, which means you'll have to bid for them, so order now.

08/25/2001

Sword of Vermilion scan added to accompany the text version I put up a while ago.

08/20/2001

Added a scan of the original manual for the Tiger Sonic LCD Wrist Game (looks like a watch, but it's a game). I've been meaning to put this up for a while, but here it finally is.

08/20/2001

Damn, school is back in, and I didn't update as much as I had hoped during the summer. Anyway, for today, two magazine ads. They can be found under the usual Sega Magazine Stuff section. Check out Shadow of a Hedgehog, it's an outstanding Sonic site. The webmaster is a lot cooler than the guys at Sonic HQ (they won't respond to my e-mail)

07/25/2001

Abraham Posted:

Some new SMS reviews have been added Spy Vs Spy, OutRun 3D and Sensible Soccer. Work has begun on getting an Mp3 section back up again so expect some Mp3's hosted by Sega World to appear with in the next couple weeks.

07/24/2001

Abraham Posted:

I'm back ! I've been busy with exams and such but I've written a review of Hang-On for Master System it includes screens of the game. I have also touched up my reviews of Tech-Romancer, Mortal Kombat II and Burning Rangers. We also have an new affiliate SMS Force it's a great site for SMS fanatics go check it out after you've been here.

07/23/2001

Sword of Vermilion text manual. This is not the hint book, just the manual on how to play the game. SGRS was updated today also.

07/08/2001

I came back from Germany on July 4, but I've been tired (jet lag) and busy. I recently sold a good hand full of Sonic comics, so that money will be put toward the page, probably Saturn games for manuals, etc... Eidolon's Inn recently had its 4th birthday, congrats.

06/15/2001

I'll be leaving this weekend for a two week vacation, so if things are dead for a while, that's why.

06/05/2001

Valis text and scaned manuals, plus the rest of the Stack Columns icons and 2 Thunder Force AC pictures.

05/31/2001

Four Magazine ads, including Viewpoint, Samurai Showdown, IR 7000, and Space Ace.

05/31/2001

Jared gave me a Virtua Fighter 2 review from his now defunct Saturn Shock. Stack Columns AIM icons, and Affiliate update.

05/06/2001

First off a review that I had forgotten about by Mark_III, ironically, it was Forgotten Worlds for SMS. I've added a F-117 Night Storm scanned manual, original Columns text manual, a Wolfchild text manual, and some ads from Sega magazines.

04/29/2001

Sorry about the lack of updates, Emulation Zone is very low on space, so I'm afriad there won't many updates for now. I'll still work on stuff, it just won't be here until the problem with the space can be solved. Had to put the ad banner, wasn't my choice =/

03/18/2001

Zaxxon 2000 - Star Fox 64 Video Game Connection, and a bit of cleaning up on some of the older Genesis reviews.

03/16/2001

Star Fighter and Rolling Thunder 2 text manuals, enjoy!

03/13/2001

Streets of Rage 2 text manual at the request of Valik.

03/10/2001

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and ToeJam & Earl Panic on Funkotron text manuals. Also a "Princess of Moss" AIM icon for Castlevania Bloodlines, which isn't much, but it needed to me mentioned.

03/09/2001

Abraham has added 3 scanned manuals from the Sonic series, Mark_III with a Alex Kidd in Shinobi World review, and I'm working on a text manual of ToeJam & Earl Panic on Funkotron. That'll be up soon.

03/04/2001

Phantasy Star III AIM icons and a some Sega MODs I've had for a while were added to the Music section.

03/04/2001

Abraham Posted:

Hi my name is Abraham and I will be helping DarkWolf update the site; for my first update I have added a Burning Rangers review with screens. Also a better quality Sonic the Hedgehog manual scan.

02/25/2001

First off a Phelios Text Manual, then a Space Harrier <-> Start Fox 64 Video Game Connection. And to top it off a Street Fighter III - Third Strike review by Potatocake.

02/22/2001

Game Geneie Patch update, as well as some new affiliates. Why did you guys let me type in '00 for the year? I just noticed I've been doing that for the past few updates.

02/18/2001

Despite PC trouble I managed to bring you 3 Dark Savior AIM icons, and an old article on The Sega Channel from a Sega Visions issue.

02/12/2001

Computer trouble again :( This time I can't get my modem reinstalled. That's why I asked for Windows 95, or 98 Second Edition, but no, they stick me with Windows ME. So I have to do the web page on one computer and upload it on the other. Today, we have a Marvel Land review for Genesis.

02/06/2001

Today we have a Granada text manual, enjoy.

02/05/2001

A new forum, Bravenet sucks. Ezboard is more flexible even though it has the same amount of ads.

02/04/2001

A Saturn review posted that was written by the talented Mark_III.

01/31/2001

Sorry about the lack of updates, hopefully this weekend I can get some stuff done.

01/17/2001

Added screen shots to the Panzer Dragoon review, which was added on the 14th.

01/14/2001

Added two reviews by our excellent reviewer, Mark_III. Also a Flash Gal <-> Streets of Rage Video Game Connection, check it out, it's pretty interesting. Also, I updated the strategy for the claw boss in Streets of Rage 2.

01/13/2001

Some bad news, today Sega Forever is down a section, the Saturn section. Why? Because Jared doesn't think Sega Forever is good enough for it. He wants to make the section into his own site, and wants me to still keep him on as a section. What is he smoking? I don't know, but it's crap like this makes it less enjoyable to work on the site. So, if anyone feels like making a Saturn section, e-mail me.

[Note Feb. 2004] His site went down after about a month. The section sucked anyway.

01/07/2001

F-117 Night Storm text manual as requested on the Forum.

01/06/2001

X-Box is shown to the world, do I care? No, I have my NVIDIA on my PC so I could care less about any new systems. So let's get back to the classics, today, a Last Bronx review by Mark_III. Also, a Sonic the Hedgehog text manual.

01/05/2001

Game Geneie Patches K-L complete, StormLord text manual. Sega Saturn Section, will be updated by Jared.

12/31/2000

Last day of 2000, now for the new millennium. Two text instruction books, and a few AIM Icons.

12/29/2000

After Burner II text manual, and 4 more Alex Kidd AIM Icons.

12/27/2000

Added 10 AIM Icons, I counted the total, and it came out to be 302 icons! Wow, that's a lot, but I have plenty more to go!

12/27/2000

Eight text manuals up from Sega Smash Pack. Never buy tickets from Asia Travel Co.

12/23/2000

Jumping right back into things! I removed all of the Box Covers, I am now going to focus on the instruction books, seeing how there are a lot of other sites that handle box covers. Also a Gaiares wallpaper.

12/22/2000

New computer! Got rid of those X-Mas colors, but no updates except SGRS.

12/12/2000

Sorry about the lack of updates, my computer is sick! So I'm suck on a 486, I hope to get a new computer in the near future.

11/17/2000

Didn't get any bids on the series, so I'm selling off individual comics.

11/12/2000

Auctioning off Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics, check out Sonic Comic Auction for details.

11/11/2000

Nintendo has totaly killed the Seaman concept by comming out with a game where you talk to Pikachu, how wonderful. How about a game where Alex Kidd runs over assorted Pokemon with a Scopaco Cycle? Do you remember SEGA Smash Pack for the PC? Well SEGA is going to release a Dreamcast version very soon with new Dreamcasts. They've added two games, and replaced one or two.

11/10/2000

Well, thanks to an e-mail, I found a very serious problem and proceded to fix it, unfortunately, this had to happen during a busy week, so I didn't find it out until now. All the index.html hyperlinks were changed to index.htm, so most of the links were broken. I have this fixed now.

11/05/2000

Golden Axe and Time Stalkers box covers added.

11/04/2000

I was successful in my restart, I haven't gotten everything installed, however, my computer is running much better, and these ZipDisks are awesome, like a mini-486 hard drive. We now have a domain (segaforever.com) thanks to Ross for finding a place to redirect for no $ :) I'll put that update up, tomorrow.

[Note Feb. 2004] This expired maybe 2 years ago. Didn't have the money at the time to renew it and haven't gotten around to it since.

10/29/2000

There was supposed to be an update today, but my computer is in it's worst condition yet. I've gotten a hold of a 250 MB ZipDrive, so I'm starting my computer over from scratch. So all e-mail, and ICQ messages will go unanswered for a few days while I get my computer up to par.

10/22/2000

Samurai Spirits Best Collection review (Mark_III)

10/22/2000

A few Gunstar Heroes AIM Icons and one from Warsong. I've started to keep the old news, I don't know why, but someday it might serve a useful purpose.

10/21/2000

Happy birthday Sega Forever! We've now been around for two years. As a present for all our visitors, a new Herzog Zwei section under RPG & Strategy (renamed from SEGA RPGs).

10/15/2000

Awesome new main page layout!

10/15/2000

As predicted, two reviews, Tech Romancer (Abraham) and Shadow Dancer (Mark_III). I've guess you've probably heard about the the new Sega CD emulator. Check out Eidolon's Inn for more info on this new emulator made by the author of AGES. I'm out of the picture until the system requirements go down, if they ever do.

10/14/2000

12 Warsong AIM icons, I forsee two reviews up tomorrow. How do I know this? Can I tell the future? Nope, I have then sitting in my inbox...

10/14/2000

Ooops, forgot to upload the new changes to the frames. Thunder Force IV pictures, and Game Genie patches G-I uploaded, Sega Forever now has a total of 137 patches, and that's only about half the alphabet!

10/12/2000

3 Warsong AIM Icons, 2 Midi, 1 MOD file, some frame changes, a Dark Savior box cover, and a small update to the Warsong section (Scenario 2 & 5 maps).

10/08/2000

Video Game Connection, a Super Magnetic Neo review by Potatocake, and Game Genie patches E-F completed.

10/01/2000

Arggghh! No updates except the inital streaming of SGRS (Service Games Radio Station).

09/23/2000

A small update to the Warsong section.

09/14/2000

A busy week, updates scarce. However I did manage to post a Metal Slug Review by Mark_III.

09/10/2000

I got a PCTV Card, so I added some Dreamcast screenshots to certein reviews. Also below, you'll see a nice little gem I ripped :) Unfortunately, I had to move my networking card to another slot and Windows doesn't like that, so I have to figure out a way to fix it, but the good news is, I doubt it will hinder any future updates.

09/04/2000

A small update to the Warsong section.

09/03/2000

5 additional Wasong AIM icons, and a Warsong RPG section opening soon

09/02/2000

This update is kinda late in the day, but it's up nevertheless. Game Genie patches C-D uploaded (Notice the pattern?), Double Dragon 3 Ad in the Magazine Stuff, and, for the first time in a long while, an instruction book!

08/26/2000
