Configuring BrSMS for Your System:

The most Important part of Making any ROM run well or even great would depend On how the Emulator Is Set Up to Run that Rom. This Is not as Hard as you may think. There Is really No Cofiguration For BrSMS but there Is A way to make One for your system. We can do this by Typing brsms -help at the command prompt as Pictured Below:

Here we see the Command Prompt Option For BrSMS, Notice that There are very many Options here As upposed to an Emulator such as Kgen98. Even though there are so many Options there are really only Few options you may need befor the Emulator starts. Now lets Try A command Line Option for A Pentium 233 MMX system and we want BrSMS to Run In 320x200 Resolution With a Joy Stick and the ROM you want to Run is Sonic.sms and Is located On your X Drive. Now all we have to do here Is Add this all Up In A Command Line. The Following Is an Example Of A command Line Setting for the Previous System we have just Stated:

brsms -mmx -fast -res 0 -joy -joysens 4 x:\sonic.sms

The Above line Is Translated by the Emulator Telling it You want To use your MMX Prossecor ( -mmx), You want Fast Emulation ( -fast ), You want the Emulator to Run in 320x200 Resolution (res 0), You want to use A joystick ( -joy ), You want to set the Sensitivity of the Joystick to A Value of 4 ( -joysens 4 ), And the Rom is located On the X Drive with the file name of sonic.sms ( x:\sonic.sms ).

Is there Any Faster Way to Run A ROM In BrSMS:

You could always Create A Batch File to Start Up the Emulator With only having to Tell the Emulator Where the ROM is and Its Name. A Batch file Is simply put as an executable File with the Extension of .BAT and is generaly used for running tasks in a Shorter time then it would take to type them out. To start making A batch File, At the Command Prompt type Edit Br.BAT (edit is A program/Utility That Should be within your Systems Path and comes with Dos, Windows, & Windows 98). You should now be placed within A program such As the One Displayed Below:

Now within the Blue Area That Is illistraited Above will be your Typing Area. Within the Typing Area you would want to place your command Promt choices as pictured below:

The First Line should be ignored this Only states that When you type the word Br to start BrSMS with your Configuration Settings they will not be Displayed on the screen. Now below that You see the Command Options In use. So within the Blue Area you will be using these command options for your an MMX Pentium CPU ( -mmx ), Fast Emulation Speed ( -fast ), 320x200 Resolution ( -res 0 ), Enable JoyPad (-joy ), JoyPad Sensitivity to set to 4 ( -yousens 4 ), The Drive Your ROM is On ( x:\ ) (note you could even add a directory path to this also IE: x:\SMSROMS\ ), And the 1%2%3%4%5% Is A simple String that allows a user to place A Command Line Through A Batch File. After these Options Have Been Typed within the Blue typeable area you are going to save it by ether pressing the Alt and the F key to bring down the File menu or using the Mouse and then goto save option and Save the file within the same Directory as BrSMS ( be Sure to save the file with the file named Br.bat ) and after you have saved it go back to the File Menu and goto exit. Now with this file being made you can start BrSMS by Typing Br ROM.SMS and it should start BrSMS with your personal Options Enabled.

How Do I start A Multi Player Game with BrSMS:

This Is yet unclear But It appears to Be Used through A Serial Cable (Null Modem Cable). And below Are the Connection Instructions:

To use the multiplayer capabilities, the method described is a simple way:

- Start BrSMS in the fast computer with:

BRSMS ddragn1.sms -server -com 2

- Start BrSMS in the slower computer with:

BRSMS ddragn1.sms -client -com 1

That's it!! Of course, you have to change ( -com 1 ) and ( -com 2 ) with settings of your computers.

This is really Not recomended for Beginners As the problems that you May run into will most Likely Turn you back to The Tech info Of the MsDos Days where you would have to use Com Drivers to Connect 2 PCs (wich Is included In the Original True DOS Installation and Are Not In windows 95 or 98 but there are Com Link Drivers to Simulate A Network/LAN. For more info on that Refer to your windows Documents).

Is there AnyThing else I Should Know:

Yes and This Is most Likly the Most Important one Of All! Please Don't Hassle The Emulation Authors As they Recieve Very Large Amounts Of Mail asking them What seems to me an infinant Amount Of mail that could never be Sorted through In Fair Time and they are doing this out Of the Kindness Of there heart. If you are Having Trouble With Something Emulation Related then Ask The EmuTek or Simply Seek Out someone who Knows Alot about Emulation and The Likes of It and Ask them. You may Run into A Fool every Once In A While that would rather insult you then Help you (I've Seen This A Million Times Over and Over Again). But what Is knowledge If It Can Not Be Shared and Then Gained...
